Part IV.V




The next day came along, but once you opened your sleepy eyes, you suddenly felt a pain come at your forehead. You groaned in pain as you heard a small mew from the foot of your bed. You wiggled your fingers which caught Oliver's attention as he hopped his way over, nuzzling your fingers as you gave him a tired smile. You looked at the time and let out another groan as you covered your head with your comforter. Your hand peeked out from underneath, searching for your phone on the night stand as you used speed dial to call Hanji's number.

"Hello? [ name ]? Where are you?"

"He-Hey Hanji, can you tell Mina to take care part of my work for me? I-I'm going to tak-take the day off today, I don't feel so good.."

You coughed right after, hearing her slightly hiss through the other line.

"Alright, I'll tell her for you. Feel better alright? I might come visit later if I can. Maybe I'll bring some of m--"

"N-No! No, Hanji, that's okay..pl-please..just please leave your chicken noodle soup at home, I'll live..thank you though.."

You cut her off, sitting up on your bed abruptly, making Oliver flinch. You heard her laugh on the other line, making you slightly sigh with relief.

"Alright then, [ name! ] Feel better!"

"Thanks Hanji.."

You smiled before ending the call. You sighed as you looked down at Oliver who was currently licking his arm. You smiled as you gently stroked his fur, making him our against your touch. You smiled even more as you kissed his head and forced yourself out of bed. Stretching before wandering down stairs, you changed into a large sweater and some shorts, however, due to the sweater the shorts were covered but left the rim of the shorts there. You walked into your kitchen, preparing some tea as you also decided to make a small sandwich. Hearing the kettle start to make noise, you pulled it away from the fire and started to gentle pour the hot water into your favorite mug. Placing yourself on your couch, you gently mixed the tea mixture and took a small bite from your sandwich, automatically looking out your window. Your thoughts had started to wander, along with your eyesight as you caught a small glimpse of the photo of the five of you in high school. You, Mike, Hanji, Erwin, and Levi. Putting your food down, you let your cheek rest against your knees, staring at the picture that had all of you smiling before all of you were taking under Erwin's now popular company. 

"Oh man.."

Just looking at the two men that were standing next to each other with Erwin's arm wrapped around Levi's as he gave a small smirk as a smile and his arms crossed over his chest made you think on how their relationship was going so far. Were they still friends? Or yet, even talking to each other like how they used to? You shook your head as you hadn't realized you had dozed off too much that you fell asleep on your couch.

After Hanji got off the line with you, she sat in her office for a little bit before she grinned, slightly jogging to Mina's desk and slamming her hands on top of her desk. She flinched and looked at her superior, blinking with surprise.

"Ca-Can I he-help you, M-Ms. Zoe..?"

"[ name ] said that she won't be able to work today since she's feeling ill. She was hoping that you could do some of her work for her if that's alright with you."

Mina nodded as she gave her a small smile.

"Yes, of course I can."

"Thank you, Mina."

She said before leaving her work space. As Hanji was about to walk back to her office, her eyes came upon the hallway that had led her to Erwin's office and Levi's office. She looked at both doors before thinking things through and slightly ran to Erwin's door. She knocked, hearing the familiar voice slightly muffled through the wooden door.

"Come in."

Hanji let herself in, Erwin looking at who had decided to enter his office. Erwin slightly smiled as he continued his typing on his laptop, greeting her.

"Hey, Hanji. What's up?"

"[ name ] isn't here today. She just called in sick."

Erwin's typing suddenly stopped as he looked up from his computer screen and looked over at his friend who just stood there with a smile plastered on her face. She looked at him as she tilted her head and slightly shocked the both of them as she let out a gasp.

"Ah, I have to go do something right now, I'll see you later, Erwin!"

She called before she made her way out of his office. Erwin sat there for a moment before he stood from his chair, looking at the clock that was resting on his desk as well. He adjusted his tie a little bit before exiting his office, bidding his assistant a farewell. 

"A small visit won't hurt.."

He muttered to himself before climbing into his car and drove the way to your home. Meanwhile, back in the office, Hanji stood in Levi's office as she stood there with a smile on her face.

"What about [ name ]?"

"She's sick at the moment so she's not in right now. Ah, by the way; I have to go now, so I'll catch you later, shorty!"

She quickly fled his office, running back to hers. Once inside, Mike was inside as well, making her smile with satisfaction. Mike sat on the couch as Hanji sat beside him and slightly yelling through her intercom.

"Mobilit! Get me some popcorn! The show's going to start soon!"

"Ye-Yes Ms. Zoe!"

Before Erwin had decided to go visit you, he went to a small cafe to retrieve some soup for your health. He remembered the first time you had got something at this cafe. He smiled as he placed the soup in the passenger seat, starting to drive his way to your home. Passing through the gates, he parked his car on your large drive way, getting out of it and locking it in the process. He walked to your front door, knocking softly as he waited patiently for you to open the door. However, what happened within the next few minutes seemed like a sudden rush. Erwin looked down at the person who answered the door, his eyes slightly wide.

"Levi? What are you doing here?"

Levi looked up at the blonde man as he slightly stiffened at his presence. He slightly glared at him before his grip on your door knob grew tighter.

"I came here to take care of [ f/n ]. What are you doing here? Don't you have work to do today?"

Erwin slightly narrowed his eyes back at him, cautiously taking a step forward. Levi soon caught on to his actions as he was about to slam the door in front of his face before your voice was heard from behind Levi.

"Levi..? Who's at the..o-oh! Erwin, you're here too?"

Erwin saw you slowly walk toward the doorway, your hand grabbing the doorknob and opening it a little wider for him to come inside. You smiled as your cheeks were flustered red and a small cooling patch was stuck on your forehead. 

"[ name ], I thought I told you to go rest."

Levi said, slowly putting an arm up and around you protectively as he glared at Erwin who was just simply smiling at the two of them. Your cheeks started to heat up by his small action and you gently pulled his arm away from your body. 

"You didn't come back after a while so I came to see if you were okay.."

You confessed as you looked up at the blonde and led him inside the house. As Erwin passed by Levi, he let down a smirk rise from his lips and making Levi growl lowly. 

"I got you some soup, [ f/n ]. From that cafe around the corner of your street."

Erwin said as he showed the to-go box in front of you. You thanked him and took the box, making your way into the kitchen as you placed it on the counter. Erwin sat on the couch, hearing Levi's foot steps come near the blonde man. You smiled as you waved at the two, catching their attention. 

"I'm just going to take a bath. Make yourself at home, okay? I'll be done within 30 minutes or so."

You smiled before walking up the stairs and into the bathroom. You were too oblivious from the tense aura that had started to grow once you started to leave the two alone in the living room. The sound of the water running was heard from the upstairs bathroom as both men were sitting in the living room, Erwin looking at some photos from where he was sitting at. 

"Did she tell you?"

Erwin started, catching Levi's attention. 

"About?"

"About [ name ] being sick. She told you, didn't she?"

Levi was silent for a moment before he answered his question.

"Yeah. She told me."

He said, causing the atmosphere to be silent again. The two just sat there, not looking at each other but just sitting there in pure silence. They have done this before, back in high school when Levi told Erwin that he was going to ask a girl out to be his girlfriend. Erwin and Levi were good friends and they would sometimes have a sit down talk when they were free. But now, after finding out that they both like the same girl..who knows how its going to turn out. Erwin stole a glance at his friend who just sat there with his arms crossed over his chest. He sighed as he got up from his seat walking his way toward him. Levi looked up until he was suddenly hauled up from his seat, Erwin glaring at him coldly. Levi's eyes were wide as he slightly gripped his wrist, trying to get some air as he was lifted by his collar. 

"You're so fucking slow Levi.."

"W-Wha!?"

"All those years that [ name ] had held such dear feelings toward you, cried when you weren't paying attention to her and I watched her break down in front of me, because of you!"

He started to shout, raising him higher. Levi was slightly choking now, but not to the point were he was going to give up. Levi glared at the taller male as their glares met halfway. 

"She fucking loves you, you idiot! Now you're barley noticing her!? You should have done that years ago! Now..Now you should know how it feels like to get your heart broken so many fucking times.."

Erwin started to raise his free hand as it clenched tightly and started to form a fist. You came down the stairs with a towel wrapped around your neck and wearing some home clothes. Once you saw Erwin and how he was holding Levi, your eyes widened and you hurried on over, hoping that you can make it before Erwin can do anything to Levi.
