Your eyes slowly opened, unsure what has happened to you while you were unconscious. You groaned, finding yourself that the mistress you were sleeping on was softer than before. Your hands grazed over the sheets, feeling the softness under the tips of your fingers. You let out a small gasp devastatingly lips as you hid underneath the blankets, pretending to look asleep. The door to your room opened, heavy footsteps entering the room. The footsteps came to a halt, feeling the presence bore their stare into the back of your head. You heard them sigh, hearing that it sounds like a male. It shuffled around the room, fixing some things here and there. You heard another pair of steps enter the room, one a bit lighter than the other.

"How is she doing?"

"Still unconscious..do you really think this is the right idea?"

"She's the only one that might have the power to take us home."

"But she looks like she doesn't know..she also just found out that she's a shifter herself.."

"We'll tell her as slowly as possible. With the amount of time that we have left, we have enough time."

"For now, let's leave her be. I have a feeling that she will wake up soon."

As soon the conversation between the strange three people in the room left, you immediately sat up in your position, looking around for an escape route. Within a few seconds, the door was barged open, making you flinch from your spot.

"See? I told you that she was going to wake up soon.."

You looked at the trio, suddenly feeling a bit of fear wave over you. You stared at them, realization attacking you hard.

"Bertholdt..? Annie? Reiner? Wh-Where am I?"

"You're safe with us, trust me. We took you out of your cell in the middle of the night."

"Where a-are we though..? What's going on?!"

You were in complete panic now, the fact that you weren't going to get anywhere unless these three weren't watching. But seeing the train with you for the past couple of years, they're very skilled.

"Wh-What do you want with me..?"

"You're the key [ name ]…you can take us back home.."

Bertholdt's expression was almost relieved, his taller frame walking toward you as he gently took your hands together in his. You looked up at him, looking over at Reiner and Annie as they just stood there, side by side. Reiner kept a small smirk, his right hand resting on his hip.

"What he's trying to say is--"

"You're the way to lead us back to freedom, your highness."

Annie suddenly said, her head bowing as she kneeled on one knee. Bertholdt on the other hand started to panic lightly as he let go of your hands, getting in the same position as Annie was. Reiner sighed as he combed his blonde locks between his fingers as he also got down on one knee, his head bowed. As for your position, you were in panic, shock and confusion as you tried to process what was happening right in front of you.

"H--Highness..!?"

"Permission to speak, your highness."

Annie said, looking up at you. You gave a slow nod, watching as Annie stood from her spot and held her hands behind her back.

"You, Reiner, Bertholdt, Ymir and I were all tests off Dr. Jaegar's experiment. He had said that he had made something, a potion even for the Titans to run away. However, as the test seemed to be a success, it started to fail ever so slowly as the results were getting out of hand. As of your genes, you are the Princess of the Royal family [ l/n ]. As the test came to a fail, Dr. Jaegar was ran out of the city, not to be found soon after. We were held captive for a couple of years until the Wall Maria was broken. We weren't in control of our Titan powers at the time, but now; we all have the motivation to go back, now that we have you, your highness."

Annie explained, your face suddenly getting pale. You looked out the window, noticing that it was just an open field, just like how you saw in the books. You looked at the trio again as they stared back at you, your face slightly filled with horror. Reiner stood up, walking over to your side and giving you a comforting hug. It caught you by surprise at first before your smaller hand clutched onto his shirt, starting to quietly sob. Reiner turned to look at his friends, giving them a small sign as they nodded at his direction, quietly leaving the room. Reiner looked down at your small form, moving to stroke your hair as well.

"I know its a lot to take in, but what she said was the truth.."

"Re-Reiner..What ab-about the others..?"

"They won't find us..not in this area."

"W-We aren't going to hurt them, are we?"

"No..Not unless you tell us not to."

You gave a small nod as you buried your face into his chest again, your mind thinking about the friends you made during your time at the Survey Corps. You closed your eyes as you slowly fell asleep once more, your mind coming to one person in mind.

Rivaille...

The Raven haired man woke up from his slumber, his grey eyes staring at his ceiling as he sat up in bed, looking around his room tiredly. He suddenly felt like he needed to get up so he decided to dress himself. When finished, he decided to go for a walk, unconsciously going down to the cell where you were held captive. He noticed the gigantic hole on the other side of the cell bars and the torn brick wall.

He remembered how he reacted when he saw this for the first time.

Because that was the day he questioned himself: "Why am I caring so much for this one person?"

The sound of the metal door closing caught into his ears as he looked to his left, the familiar blonde male coming in sight. He looked at the gaping hole and the slight breeze that was running through it.

"We found out that its not just [ name ] missing."

"Who are the others, then?"

"Braun, Leonhart and Fubar are missing as well."

"You think that--"

"They will lead to where [ name ] is, Rivaille."

Rivaille stared at the man a little bit longer before he looked at the gaping hole once more. His arms were crossed over his chest, but he held his forearms tightly, to hold in the anger that was boiling in his body.

"We will uncover this mystery. I swear.."

he said before leaving, the file that held all of those missing soldiers clamped in his grasp. Rivaille let out a sigh, a few flashes of his past nightmares coming into his brain so suddenly.

Ri-Rivaille!!

Please..le-leave me be..

You are going to di-die if you're with me!!

Rivaille shook the thought out of his head as he grunted softly, making his way up the stairs. He exited the cell, only to be bumped by a running soldier. He glared at the boy, looking as he was apologizing multiple times.

"What the hell is your problem Cadet?"

"So-Sorry sir, but there's a--"

"Shorty!"

Rivaille turned his head as Hanji came running, Mike right behind her as they came a small stop.

"You have to hurry and look outside! There's something going on!"

Hanji said as she grabbed his hand, pulling him outside. As Rivaille tried to catch his balance, they were finally outside, going up to the highest building to look at what was happening. Erwin was already there and he had his glare set to where the sun was barely rising.

"She came back."

Although Rivaille couldn't see with the brightness of the sun but he was able to see at least a frame. more like Frames..

His gaze then started to look over the amount of Titans that were lined up in front of them, a titan with Maroon colored eyes sticking out of all of them. Rivaille glared as well as his grip on the railing tightening.

"Erwin."

He had caught his attention as he turned to look at the smaller man, catching the anger that was starting to boil within him.

"This is a sign of war.."
